WILD DOLPHINS |
|
Nuevo Vallarta sits on the north side of Banderas Bay, home to resident pods of bottlenose dolphins. These dolphins live here year round, and are a frequent sighting on boat trips on the bay, particularly on trips out to the Marietas Islands. Seeing wild dolphins is a real treat - as they jump out of the water, and lead your boat in the way dolphins are famous for. These tours turn into whale watching tours during whale season. (Dec. 15th through March 31st). |

Nuevo Vallarta Wild Dolphins FAQ's
Q: AM I GUARANTEED
TO SEE WILD DOLPHINS?
A: If we could guarantee that, they wouldn't
be wild. Our experienced guides know where they're likely to be, and
will try their best to help you see them, but in the wild, there are no guarantees.
That being said, the Search for Wild Dolphins tour almost always is able to
see dolphins - after all, they actually do search for them.
Q: DO I GET TO SNORKEL
WITH THE DOLPHINS?
A: See the above answer - both tours involve
snorkeling, but the chances of actually snorkeling with the dolphins is, while
possible, slim. If you want a for-sure chance of interacting with the
dolphins in the water, we highly recommend our
Swim With Dolphins activities.
Q: WHICH ONE SHOULD
I CHOOSE?
A: That depends on what you want to get
out of your day. The Search for Wild Dolphins is a very ecologically oriented
tour for people serious about learning about dolphins in their natural habitat
and appreciating them for the amazing creatures they are. This is the
tour to take if you're serious about wanting to see dolphins in the wild.
The Wild Dolphins & Snorkeling is really not much more than a fun boat cruise
to the Marietas Islands where dolphins are likely to be seen from the boat
- it's a booze cruise type tour where there is an open bar, snorkeling and
beach activities - not an ecotour.
