SCUBA DIVING AT EL MORRO
OUR ADVICE Great dive site, but the surge can be strong at times. If this is the case, your divemaster may suggest an alternate location. If he suggests it, we recommend you follow his advice. This dive isn't enjoyable if the surge is present. Have a snorkeler in your group?

El Morro is by far the best dive site in the Nuevo Vallarta area, but is suitable for experienced divers only. Here you'll find a series of pinnacles rising from the ocean floor, riddled with dozens of caves and tunnels all teeming with life, including one unique cave that goes through a pinnacle that you enter at 90 feet and exit at 60 feet. THIS TOUR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE At 35 miles from Puerto Vallarta, El Morro is located just outside the protected waters of Banderas Bay in the Pacific Ocean. Look for big pelagics here like sailfish and marlin (especially fall and winter), giant manta rays, sea turtles, dolphins, and even sometimes exciting sights like whale sharks (early summer) or humpback whales (winter).
